Before the fruition of "contracted" flight jackets during the early 1900s, pilots would have their jackets locally made. This task proved very interesting for local tailors as the outcome of these jackets that were made were heavily inspired and had a great likeness to motorcycle jackets and trench coats of the period.

The WW1 Horsehide Aviator Coat is imalgamation of a few of these locally made aviator coats that we have in our archive, taking the best parts that we found most useful and creating the ultimate WW1 Aviator Coat.
