Based on the Level 3 layer of the ECWCS, this jacket has been elevated by The Real McCoy’s in a Wool Outer Pile and Cotton base.
The Extended Cold Weather Clothing System (ECWCS) is a system of protective clothing that was developed in the 1980s by the United States Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center. It consists of a parka and trousers, plus 20 other individual items of clothing, handwear, headwear and footwear, which can be used in various combinations to suit the needs of soldiers in cold weather environments.
The SHIRT, COLD WEATHER, LEVEL 3 is a reproduction of the GEN2 Level 3, fleece jacket in ECWCS. However, where traditional garments would have a polyester fabric composition, the SHIRT, COLD WEATHER, LEVEL 3 from The Real McCoy’s has a significantly upgraded Wool Outer Pile and Cotton base.
