The M-65 Trigger Mittens were designed to allow soldiers the use of firearms whilst keeping their hands warm and safe from harsh weather conditions. The M-65 Field Coat has a velcro triangular flap on the cuff that is designed to fold in and hook onto the mittens straps. Although this feature isn't available on other M-65 items, the mittens could still be used with the M-65 Parka and other jackets. The outer fabric is made of the same cotton satin as the M-65 Field Coat, the lining is a ripstop quilted fabric in the same shell as the M-65 liner. The palm side of the mitten is made of luxurious vegetable tanned deerskin.
