Unlike our luxurious Outdoor Wool Pile Jackets, this is a true reproduction of a vintage Outdoor Pile Cardigan.

The reason why many outdoor brands produced pile jackets was for its packable, light weight and quick drying qualities. The lack of ribbed cuffs and waistband aided in reducing the drying time and the velcro tabs and simple breast pocket also helped in keeping the overall weight down. The Pile Cardigan was originally designed to be worn for outdoor activities such as paddling and kayaking, but because the Outdoor Pile Cardigan ticked all the boxes, it was used for so much more.
