TROUSERS, MEN'S, FIELD, M-65

The TROUSERS, MEN'S, FIELD, M-65 are made from a cotton sateen cloth, incorporating original field details such as straps housed inside the snap closure side pockets for securing gear, side waist adjusters, suspender loops, and a drawcord at the hem.

Among surviving vintage examples of this M-65 trousers, contract number 1276 dated to year 1967 has been finished with lapped seams. This construction offered greater strength but required a higher level of sewing skill, and was subsequently phased out in favor of standard flat-stitched seams to improve production efficiency. This reproduction is built to the specification of that early example.

As with the M-65 Field Jacket, the trouser was designed as part of a layered field system. The silhouette is cut as an over-pant, allowing room for a liner to be worn beneath. The knees are finished with three-dimensional pleats that prevent the fabric from pulling tight when the leg is bent.
