About

There were two types of M-65 hoods: a fur type and the synthetic fur type. Synthetic fur is considered to be the most common type seen in today's vintage market.

The detachable hood was designed for the M-65 system, and its oversized nature allowed it to be able to be worn over a soldiers helmet in extreme weather conditions. The hood also had backwards compatibility and could be integrated with its previous M-1951 parka.
