About

The Real McCoy’s 8HU CHAMBRAY SERVICEMAN SHIRT is made from a 5oz chambray cloth and follows a pattern commonly worn throughout the 40s and 60s. Notable period details include a double-layered left breast pocket featuring two compartments, designed for the practical storage of cigarettes with additional space for a pen or note book - keeping both safe and dry from sweat and the elements.

The origins of chambray are rooted in the former Flemish region Cambrai, now a part of France. This particular region was famous for its dense but remarkably light weight cambric cloth, woven at the time in a linen blend. While the chambray cloth we know today is made using a coloured warp and a white weft, this early cambric cloth was finished in a plain weave.

Enduring qualities of chambray are its durability, soft feel and unmatched breathability, making it the ideal choice for labourers requiring a resilient work shirt to see them through a rigorous 8 hour work day.

Our 8HU CHAMBRAY SERVICEMAN SHIRT is finished with a full button up front, closed with urea button fastenings. Gusseted side seams ensure extra strength between stitched fabric, while preventing any unnecessary strain.
