From Joe McCoy, The DEERSKIN DOWN JACKET uses deerskin with a minimal finishing process to accentuate the natural character of the leather. Conceived for harsh-weather expeditions in the 1930s, the quilted technique offers exceptional insulation by virtue of the encased French Duck down feathers. By the mid-century, technical garments were being amalgamated with high-end materials and finishing, such as the Deerskin exterior, brass 'dot' snap buttons and oval nickel finished zipper seen here. This jacket will age beautifully with wear due to the uniqueness of the leather; each piece is different due to the deerskin’s natural character.
