About

Between the 1950s and 1970s, motorcycle racing experienced a surge in popularity, fuelled by cutting edge motoring technology that enabled higher speeds and the development of more advanced racetracks. Developing an increase in public interest and media coverage, as well as elevating profiles of both teams and riders, the sport attracted a wave of corporate sponsors. It was these brand sponsors, with carefully designed logos and merchandise, that played an important role in how the aesthetic of motor sports was portrayed.

The BUCO NYLON RIDER’S VEST has been crafted from a specially developed heavy duty nylon twill, which draws inspiration from the design of quilted down vests that were initially created for mountaineering. This bespoke nylon fabric provides a high level of wind resistance while remaining light weight, and proudly wears the BUCO oval embroidered patch. Custom embroidery was an integral element of crew uniforms during this period and serves as a nod to motorcycle accessory companies that embraced these new branding strategies to promote themselves and the sport.

The BUCO NYLON RIDER’S VEST is completed with custom BUCO logo DOT buttons designed for effortless fastening, even when wearing gloves, and also features hand warmer pockets, designed for the coldest race days.
