About

The CHAMBRAY PULLOVER STRIPE SUMMER SHIRT is a collarless leisure shirt made from a comfortable lightweight 5oz cotton chambray.

This Pullover shirt, with a Henley-style neckline and closure, first gained popularity during the post-war recreation-boom of the 1950s. Vacationing emerged as a symbol of the middle class and ‘Resort’ wear was introduced as an aspirational alternative to the formal clothing worn while travelling in the first half of the 20th Century.

The hooped style seen here was also popular in amateur sports, where the chambray fabric provided high durability relative to its light-weight.

The CHAMBRAY PULLOVER STRIPE SUMMER SHIRT is a loose fitting pop-over with a curved hem, for ease of movement. Featuring two cotton stripe panels sewn over the front and back side, matching tonal piping has been added round the collar and front button placket, which fastens with urea buttons.
