About

The MILITARY TEE / THE BLUE GHOST is crafted from an 8oz cotton fabric, designed without side seams for enhanced comfort. Notably, a binder neck has been incorporated for durability and its ability to maintain shape. Featuring a front print of the USS Lexington, famously known as "The Blue Ghost.”

Originally intended to be named the USS Cabot, this ship experienced a change in designation following the sinking of the original USS Lexington during the Battle of the Coral Sea, where it had served as an aircraft carrier. The construction of this new USS Lexington began on July 15, 1941, and it was launched on September 23, 1942. Commissioned in February 1943, it assumed a pivotal role as a flagship during the Pacific War, garnering 11 battle stars and receiving the Presidential Unit Citation for exceptional heroism in action against an armed enemy.

Dubbed "The Blue Ghost" by Japanese forces , the USS Lexington earned this nickname due to its resilience, reemerging unscathed after being sunk. The ship's blue and grey colour, chosen for its effectiveness as camouflage at sea, played a role in shaping its identity.
