About

See how they stretch! The DOUBLE DIAMOND SPRING SUSPENDERS a Perfect Fit, Every Time!

The DOUBLE DIAMOND SPRING SUSPENDERS are crafted using a 42mm cotton-rayon strap with custom spring-jointed hardware. The spring suspender was first introduced in the 1920s as a way to balance the durability and elasticity of traditional cotton-elastic suspenders. By removing the elastic from the cotton straps, the suspenders could withstand more washes and harder wear, extending their lifespan.

Suspenders can be traced back to 18th century France when they were simply strips of ribbon attached to a trouser buttonhole. By 1822, a London haberdasher named Albert Thurston formalized the design, marketing them as "braces." Traditionally, these were worn as an undergarment, but by the 1930s, particularly as attitudes toward societal norms changed during the Depression Era in the U.S.A., it became acceptable for suspenders to be worn on the outside of clothing, necessitating a more considered design. The X-back and Y-back designs became prevalent, typically made from cotton material, worn over a shirt, and fastened to high-waisted pants.
