TYPE A-3 CAP / HORSEHIDE

The TYPE A-3 CAP / HORSEHIDE is a 6-Panel cap in Full Grain leather, meticulously reconstructed using the same horsehide and lining as our TYPE A-2 Jacket.

The A-3 cap was originally issued in cotton, in WWII for mechanics, but was quickly adopted by airship pilots and crew members alike for its ease of wear and functional design.

Military contractors were known to make off-spec items after the war, combining patterns and materials from MIL-SPEC items to create something bespoke. It is on this principle that THE REAL MCCOYS MFG CO. have created the TYPE A-3 CAP in aniline-finished horsehide, sewn with cotton thread and benefitting from a Cotton Broad Cloth lining borrowed from the TYPE A-2.
