About

In 1933 the Joseph Buegeleisen Company was established to fill a neglected demand for top-quality motorcycle accessories. That the demand is no longer neglected is only too apparent to our friends in the motorcycle business

“BUCO” HELMETS are unsurpassed in quality because all BUCO products are manufactured in our own well-equipped plant and due to our “DIRECT FROM THE MANUFACTURER” method of operation the trade has come to recognise the BUCO trademark as the standard of high-quality and value.

Establishing his first company in 1910 focused on Aviator Goggles, Joseph Buegeleisen's expertise in aviation safety likely played a pivotal role in shaping the needs of motorcycle enthusiasts in subsequent years. The BUCO COTTON-TWILL RIDER’S HELMET is an ‘AVIATOR TYPE — FORM FITTING’ motorcycle skull cap with noticeable lineage to leather flying helmets of the 30s and 40s. With the emission of earphone holes, similar traits include the buckle fastened chin strap and snap button goggle retainers.

The BUCO COTTON-TWILL RIDER’S HELMET is crafted from high-quality West Point cotton chino cloth. A warm lightweight durable helmet is the result and no helmet stock is complete without it.

Historically produced in leather or gabardine they served as an ideal liner for half helmets. Beyond enhancing the overall fit of Shorties, the cotton skull cap provided an additional layer of comfort and in touring scenes, was commonly worn alone.
