BUCO DETACHABLE MOUTON COLLAR / JACOB

The Detachable Mouton Collar was produced by Buco in 1949, sold separately from the jackets. Examining the original vintage collar, it was probably made to be attached to models such as the J-22, J-24, and J-24L; all models that featured press-button studs on the collar.

While BUCO's original 1949 collar used processed mouton (sheepskin that has been sheared, treated, and dyed to create a uniform color and dense texture), this reproduction uses natural British Jacob sheep. This rare breed is known for its distinctive spotted pattern, with the unique distribution of markings referred to as the "island pattern." Unlike traditional mouton, the Jacob sheep fleece remains unprocessed, preserving the natural color and texture exactly as nature intended.

For modern compatibility, this removable collar is created to be worn with the current J-24 (BJ21101) model only. It can be attached to prior J-24 models (BJ9111, BJ19003) but will not fit perfectly. The removable collar is NOT COMPATIBLE with the J-24L (BJ18102). Please check your model before purchasing and contact us if you have any reservations.
