Nicknamed the Flying Tigers, the AVG (American Volunteers Group) was deployed to aid the Chinese Air Force and help defend China against Japan in the 1940s. The Flying Tigers comprised of U.S. Army Air Force, U.S Navy and U.S Marine Corp pilots recruited by President Roosevelt.
Finished in Souvenir style, this WW2 tanker jacket is decorated with Flying Tigers imagery including Bullion Patches (Threaded Steel) on 100% wool felt backings and leather crafted blood chit scroll and flying tiger squadron patch on the breast and back. The leather crafted patches are finished in the same hand painted style as originals that we have accrued over the years.
